10/02/2013 - “Ghost Brothers of Darkland County,” John Mellencamp’s theater/music collaboration with Stephen King, is coming to Minneapolis on Halloween at the State Theatre. Meanwhile, the rocker is working on his paintings and re-watching one of his favorite movies, 1942’s “Tortilla Flat.”

Says Mellencamp: “Starring Spencer Tracy and John Garfield, written by John Steinbeck. I love Steinbeck. It’s a movie about possessions and how useless they are. As a matter of fact, my girlfriend [Meg Ryan] said: ‘Do we gotta watch it again?’ It’s kind of an unknown Steinbeck movie. It’s great.” Read More

09/10/2013 - AEG Live is pleased to announce the touring cast for the southern gothic, supernatural musical Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, libretto by Stephen King, with music and lyrics by John Mellencamp and musical direction by T Bone Burnett.

The show stars actor Bruce Greenwood as the father Joe McCandless. Greenwood, is perhaps best known for his roles as JFK in the film Thirteen Days, Flight and Captain Christopher Pike in the 2009 Star Trek film and its sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness. Also starring is Emily Skinner as Joe’s wife, Monique. Skinner is a well-known stage actress who received a Tony Award nomination for Side Show, and has had leading roles on Broadway in Jekyll & Hyde, James Joyce’s The Dead, The Full Monty and Billy Elliot. He is a self-avowed liberal—but his is a community-based leftism that distrusts bureaucracy and hates paternalism, yet believes in social assistance for the poor, sick, and hungry, the widows and orphans that the Bible identifies. Mellencamp inhabits common ground with libertarians on social issues, and he is a consistent opponent of war and foreign intervention, but he does not believe that an unfettered free market will solve every social problem. 07/03/2013 - Saratoga Springs, N.Y. — Farm Aid announced today that the organization has sold all of the available tickets for Farm Aid 2013, the family farm benefit festival scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Farrm Aid announced today that its annual benefit concert will return to the Northeast on Saturday, Sept. 21, taking place at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

The event will be headlined by performances from Farm Aid Board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews. More artists are expected to be announced in the near future. Tickets will go on sale Friday June 28 at 10 AM EDT via will be holding a pre-sale for their members and we hope to offer a pre-sale as well. Please watch our TOUR page for more details.
