11.13.2018 - John Mellencamp was announced today as the feature performer for the 40th Anniversary of Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center Benefit Celebration, taking place Friday, December 14 at Auer Hall at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Tickets and VIP packages -- which will include a dinner at the Cultural Center and a Meet & Greet with John and Arjia Rinpoche -- will also be offered and will go on sale the same date and time on sale this Friday, November 16th at 10am ET at Ticketmaster.

Attendees will be treated to an intimate, acoustic performance from Mellencamp, as well as a conversation with the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center’s director, Arjia Rinpoche. For as renowned as his original material remains, Mellencamp has breathed new life and spirit into various staples of the classic American musical canon as well. A handpicked selection of those covers comprises the aptly titled, Other People’s Stuff.

Culled from seminal albums, compilations, unearthed sessions and documentaries, this record serves as a proud homage to some of the greatest songs in history. For the album, Mellencamp recorded a brand-new version of “Eyes on the Prize” which was originally performed at The White House. It’s an extension of his Sad Clowns & Hillbillies tour from 2017, but comes after his June induction in the Songwriters Hall of Fame, a full exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where he was inducted 10 years ago, and to top it off, the Woody Guthrie Prize, which he was honoured with in August. 09.27.2018 - American rocker John Mellencamp had a crowd of 3,400 on their feet and singing along to songs like "Jack and Diane" at Moncton's new Avenir Centre Wednesday night.

Dressed in a black jumpsuit with trademark white t-shirt and his greying hair slicked back, the 66-year-old classic rocker led his six-member band (two guitars, bass, accordion/keyboard, violin and drums) through a 90-minute set of his well-known classics and lesser-known bluesy tunes. 09.23.2018 - The Butler Institute of American Art is proud to present a powerful exhibition of the most recent art works from the multi-expressional, creative spirit of legendary musician, long-time activist and accomplished painter John Mellencamp.

The exhibition John Mellencamp: Expressionist, will be on view at The Butler from September 20 through November 18, 2018. Admission to the exhibition and to the museum is free.

09.13.2018 - Set to coincide with a highly anticipated new album release, John Mellencamp will embark on a 2019 tour of “The John Mellencamp Show” which will feature the rock icon’s classics plus some new material. Hailed by critics and fans alike as one of music’s most authentic and crowd pleasing concert performers, Mellencamp will begin the tour February 7th in his home state of Indiana at South Bend’s Morris Performing Arts Center and will span two months ending in Clearwater, Florida at the famed Ruth Eckerd Hall. Produced by AEG Presents, “The John Mellencamp Show” will start promptly at 8pm and will not have an opening act. 08.30.2018 - The new Woody Guthrie Center exhibit, “Mellencamp,” is an exploration of the life and career of an artist who champions heartland values and is an advocate for American farmers.

The exhibit features items like photos, handwritten lyrics, the motorcycle and musical instruments. Among instruments on display is a guitar David Bowie utilized during the Ziggy Stardust tour and a Neil Young guitar won by Mellencamp in an arm-wrestling match.

The exhibit is scheduled to open Friday, Aug. 31. This is a big week for Tulsa-related Mellencamp news. Mellencamp will be presented the Woody Guthrie Prize during an 8 p.m. event tonight at the Fly Loft.
