07/11/2012 - The New York Times asked John to write a commentary on Woody Guthrie in conjunction with the paper's coverage of the centennial of his birth (July 14, 1912). John, who kicked off the Guthrie Centennial celebration by headlining a tribute concert in Tulsa on March 10, 2012, responded with a poem that the Times has posted on line as part of its ArtsBeat series.
