11/22/2010 - This Thanksgiving weekend, SIRIUS XM Willie’s Place (Sirius 64, XM 13) gives “thanks” to America’s family farmers that put good food on our tables, with a special rebroadcast of the 25th annual Farm Aid concert “Growing Hope for America,” held last month at Miller Park in Milwaukee, WI. The rebroadcast will air Thanksgiving Day noon-7 pm ET and again on Sunday, November 28 1-8 pm ET.

09/22/2010 - Today is the 25th Anniversary of the first Farm Aid. In celebration of the date Farm Aid president Carolyn Mugar wrote the following op-ed piece for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

On Sept. 22, 1985, Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp came together to host the first Farm Aid concert in front of 78,000 farmers, fans and activists. They thought the event in Champaign, Ill., would be the first and only Farm Aid concert - that the overwhelming public outcry would spur public officials to act immediately to right the obvious inequities that were forcing thousands of farm families off their land and out of their homes.

09/22/2010 - On September 22, 1985, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young organized the first Farm Aid concert to help family farmers stay on their land. Twenty-five years later, with the added support of Dave Matthews, who joined the Farm Aid board of directors in 2001, Farm Aid leaders say the organization is going strong.
