10/25/2011 - John's 2011 No Better Than This Fall Tour has kicked off! The 16 shows in October and November will take John into cities across the Eastern, Southern and Midwestern regions of the U.S. and Canada. The "evening with" format begins at 7PM with the hour-long documentary film It's About You, followed by John's performance at 8 PM. 10/13/2011 - John and more than 20 other artists share their favorite songs in Rolling Stone's second annual Playlist issue. "Political songs are songs by the people," says Mellencamp. "I think it was Jefferson who said that if the people do not seriously question the government every 20 years, then democracy is no longer working. That's why protest songs exist." 10/12/2011 - On October 18 Shout! Factory will release T Bone Burnett Presents: The Speaking Clock Revue, an album showcasing 11 performances from a benefit concert at New York’s famed Beacon Theatre that Burnett orchestrated last year with Participant Media. Proceeds from album sales, as with the live show, will benefit The Participant Foundation, to support the inclusion of music and arts education in public school systems. Read More

10/07/2011 - John is again part of promoting World Homeless Day taking place this Monday, 10/10. This year’s public service announcement, featuring Crystal Bowersox, American Idol finalist and advocate for the homeless, contains video of John's 2010 visit to a homeless shelter in Detroit with 1Matters.

08/08/2011 - Farm Aid 2011 will be held at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in Kansas City, KS, THIS Saturday, August 13th. A new addition to the stellar lineup includes the KC hometown favorite afro-beat, soul-funk band Hearts Of Darkness to the concert. Farm Aid Board Members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, and Dave Matthews will headline the event. The headliners will be joined by Jason Mraz, Jamey Johnson, Jakob Dylan, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Will Dailey & the Rivals, Robert Francis, Pegi Young & the Survivors, Rebecca Pidgeon, Billy Joe Shaver, John Trudel and Heart of Darkness

In addition to the Farm Aid webcast Willie Nelson’s SIRIUS XM music channel, Willie’s Roadhouse (channel 56), will broadcast the entire live concert beginning at 2 p.m. CDT. Listeners will hear backstage interviews and behind-the-scenes coverage hosted by SIRIUS XM’s Dallas Wayne.

The release from Starbucks and Universal Music includes tracks from Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Elton John & Leon Russell, Elvis Costello, John Mellencamp, Jakob Dylan, Roy Orbison and many more. John's "Save Some Time To Dream" from No Better Than This is included along with T Bone's thoughts on the song. Read More
