11.09.2016 - On Friday night, the Chester Fritz Auditorium was packed to its capacity with a crowd anxiously waiting for Grammy-Award winning musician John Mellencamp, on the last show of his 15-show Plain Spoken Tour featuring Americana singer Carlene Carter.

Mellencamp strutted onstage to his hit “Lawless Times,” with his signature confidence and his charismatic six-man band. “Some songs you know, some songs you don’t know, some you can dance to, and some you can sing along to.”

11.07.2016 - The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame presents a special exhibit on the life, art and music of John Mellencamp. Opening November 10, 2016 in the Ahmet Ertegun Main Exhibition Hall. “In working closely with John Mellencamp to create this exhibit, it was very clear that he embodies what rock and roll is all about – rebellion, being true to yourself, and of course, making great music,” says Karen Herman, Vice President of Collections & Curatorial Affairs at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

11.02.2016 - John Mellencamp stood at the microphone at the center of the Lied Center stage, holding an acoustic guitar and talking about the song he was going to play next.

“I wrote this song when I was a child,” he said. “This is like singing ‘Jingle Bells’ to me. The only reason I play this song is I know you guys want to hear it. And I know what I was doing the night I wrote this. It’s lucky it got written at all.”

10.22.2016 - As the honorary mayor of Tent City, Ken Leslie the creator of Veterans Matter introduces John to speak before the Walk To End Veteran Homelessness in Toledo, Ohio on Oct 21st, just a few hours before his sold-out concert at the Stranahan Theatre. Since 1990, Tent City has been Toledo’s annual event to help the homeless. Mellencamp first visited Toledo in 2007 and was the inspiration for the sponsor of Tent City and 1Matters.Org.

10.20.2016 - From the moment he strolled out on stage with his Fender Telecaster until the final notes of his last song 95 minutes later, John Mellencamp had the sold-out crowd at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Wilkes-Barre on Friday, Oct. 14 in the palm of his hand.

Sometimes they sang along, sometimes they danced, sometimes they just sat and listened intently to his words at the second show of the seventh and final leg of the “Plain Spoken” tour.

10.15.2016 - “Ladies and Gentlemen, from Bloomington, Indiana, please welcome Mr. John Mellencamp,” echoed throughout the F.M. Kirby Center.

The lights on the stage rose and a six-piece band stood together on stage. Chords from “Lawless Times” shook the theater as guitar and fiddles were met with cheers and claps.

Then, out walked the man of the hour, which brought everyone to their feet as he bowed to his fans.

10.12.2016 - John Mellencamp rocked the Hanover Theater Tuesday night, kicking off the final leg of his “Plain Spoken” tour on his only stop in New England scheduled during the extended performances.

08.29.2016 - John Mellencamp, Jackson Browne and Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham are featured on the official soundtrack to the Showtime series Roadies, which was just released digitally and will be available for purchase as a physical album Friday, September 2. 05.12.2016 - Just in time for Father's Day five John Mellencamp albums have been scheduled for reissue on 180-gram vinyl LPs on June 10 by Mercury/UMe. New lacquers for American Fool, Uh-Huh, Scarecrow, The Lonesome Jubilee, and Big Daddy were cut from their original analog master tapes by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering, with the vinyl LPs manufactured by Record Industry. The albums are available now, individually and gathered in a limited edition 5-LP vinyl box set, The Vinyl Collection 1982-1989. Read the complete press release after the jump.
